We want to host an event next spring to benefit a local charity… profitable for us or a loss?

-

I own 2 small businesses and we are interested in 2 goals. Promoting and helping a local charity organization, but also increasing people to our business location and increasing sales.

Maybe you can’t have both goals at once?

We were hoping to really give the charity a show… advertise for them and get attention to their cause, but also try and increase business at our store that day, or in general. Also get people to know we’re there…

Is this a bad combination? Not sure how to pull off something like this… any good ideas? Thanks!

I can say that I understand both ways why you are doing this type of marketing but it might benefit you more by focusing on the most important for a non-profit organization. Helping them first will let them know you are there for them and just have your business cards handy and if the non-profit doesn’t have a problem with you promoting your business name then go for it. If they do then just focus one goal at a time putting them first because they are the ones in need of funds and only people and local donations help 501c Non-profits generate income. Try it and hope it everything works out. Another tip is while promoting have a sign in sheet at your table or display table and make sure guests and visitors sign it and give them your brochure or business card that way the hard work is already done without asking for their contact information and then in few days follow up with the customers.

Is there any legit profitable home Businesses that I can start! NOT JOB! NO SCAMS?

-

I am seeking information from expierenced online business owners! I have been researching business for some time now. It’s hard to find legit information on starting a real online business. If you have expierence in running your own legit business online people suggest some businesses I can start. I don’t want anyting to do with MLM, Cold calls, sign on fees ext.

American Business Exchange.com is one the very few that lists ideas for new businesses along with all kinds of access to angel investors, venture capitalists, etc. On the other hand, if you are just looking for home businesses that aren’t scams, your best source is Rat Race Rebellion.com. We know because we operate American Business Exchange.com and our ONLY listing for Home Business Opportunities because we have researched them pretty thoroughly. Good Luck!

Is AIG a good stock pick now?

-

I invested in AIG on Tuesday and got 43% profit today. What do you all think…is this pick one to continue to invest in or is selling at my profit now a better go?

I believe the purpose of the loan was to allow them time to arrange for orderly sale of assets to avoid bankruptcy. It’s hard to imagine they will get good prices, under that kind of pressure. I haven’t been paying close attention to them, it seems too speculative.
they have a trillion in assets, but the equity (shareholders part) equals assets minus liabilities – a much smaller number, and now the government owns 85 percent of the equity. So even if the market cap went right back to what it was when shares were 50$, the old equity would only be worth 7.50$, the govt. would own the other 42.50. To put it another way, if the share price reaches 7.50$, the market cap will be the same as it was 2 months ago.
This is like what happens when a company sells preferred shares. the preferred holders get paid a high, guaranteed dividend, and if the stocks value goes up, they get to convert into common shares. so if the stock does good, you get a big bunch of new shareholders, which equals dilution. makes it hard for the price to get back to where it was.
I’d take my profit soon.
